Coronavirus Opportunity & Mindset

Updated: Jun 9, 2020

When confronted by monumental events beyond your control, you still retain the power to choose how you respond. You and you alone get to determine how you interpret the events you experience, deciding what they mean to you, and choose how you react. You get to determine if an event is an ending or a beginning. You get to choose whether it is a starting line or the finish line.

Like any experience, it’s purpose and meaning are going to be determined by your attitude and your actions, both of which you can choose, even if it isn’t easy to maintain them. If the lens you see things through is already biased towards the negative, any adverse event will appear even more devastating and detrimental. Manifesting until your lack of action turns that mindset into a reality. A lens that is positive, optimistic, and future-oriented will remove much of the power of negative events, providing you with a sense of hope and possibility.

What you believe is going to determine your actions. It is either going to be a call to action or a justification to withdraw. Are you going to act in your interest and the interest of others, or are you going to hunker down, do little to nothing and try to wait it out? Will you call on your courage or allow your fears to prevent you from seizing the day, Carpe Diem.

If you do nothing, a crisis will have no positive outcome. If you decide to do what you can, you create the possibility of creating positive results to offset some of the negative.

No one wishes for adverse events as an opportunity to grow. But those who use them as a chance to re-imagine things, to call on their initiative and their resourcefulness as motivation, end up stronger on the other side. An economic downturn although a terrible thing is a ripe environment for these kinds of individuals. Creating new blue ocean market space, and in turn bringing about a new generation of million and billionaires.

Those who do nothing are shaped only by their perception of loss, lost time, lost opportunities, and lost certainty. Left only to grasp the notion of as all things being the way things are supposed to be.

None of what is written here is easy. There are very few things that make a real difference that are easy, least of all what you must do when you find yourself facing the type of monumental challenge COVID-19 has presented to us all. You have to make a concerted effort to do all the things necessary to position yourself to acquire and maintain this mindset for as long as necessary. Which realistically should be always.

Do your best; recognizing this point in our history is one shaping a complete socioeconomic shift. It’s time for you to take a breath, look at your kids, your loved one, but most importantly, get up and look in the mirror at the one person who is capable of doing more than just adapting. Look at yourself and ask, am I destined to be the many who sit back and essentially ride the wave, or am I the few who seek opportunity in the face of disaster; the few who are driven to create their own market space the few or the many?

Here’s your chance to find out. Teaming up with our fellow marketing experts at VP Creative Agency we’ve agreed to wave consultation fees and allow up to a 45-minute Zoom meeting for those ready to separate themselves from the many. This opportunity comes with no obligations and is built so we may do our part in assisting throughout this crisis. Set up your meeting today by emailing us at: support@promotonicspromotions.com
